For details on lessons, see bottom.

Lucas studies saxophone under Dr. Stanley Fisher at Acadia University and has experience with alto, tenor and baritone. In 2009/2010 he played alto for the Acadia University Wind Ensemble, solo repertoire, the Bridgewater Fire Department Band, Weather Advisory and the Sound of Music 2010 Pit Band, tenor in the Acadia Jazz Ensemble, and baritone in the Acadia Sax Quartet.

Lucas also attended the 2010 Atlantic Band Festival where he played tenor alongside Mike Murley and Alastair Kay. Most recently, he doubled on alto and baritone for Johann De Meij's Symphony No.2 "The Big Apple", conducted by De Meij himself, and earlier in the 10/11 school year was conducted by Donald Hunsberger. Also in the 10/11 year Lucas played saxophone for three world premieres of compositions by fellow students at Acadia University.

Lucas has experience teaching private students in addition to having given several saxophone workshops at Nova Scotian high schools; he has also given a masterclass on the instrument at the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts.

LESSONS (saxophone + theory)

Lucas offers saxophone lessons in Lunenburg County, NS, for $20/hour. Lucas is also willing to come to a more distant student if they compensate for travel costs.

Lucas is an A+ theory student and loves to teach theory (tonal and atonal theories), often studying by himself outside of school. Theory lessons are available for $20/hour.

As a saxophonist Lucas is enthusiastic about supplying background music in a variety of locations and has also been asked to sit in with ensembles needing an extra member for a concert. Lucas' performance terms are quite negotiable - contact here.
